"is back to where it lasted..."

48 hours from now i will be on an airplane somewhere over the pacific. why is that so unbelievable? why do i feel like my life has been in this warp speed? will it ever slow down again? although- when was it ever slow?

i have had a really good week this week. school has been enjoyable and i'm practically done teaching for the week. i was hoping that by christmas time i felt more comfortable at my job and with my kids and i feel like that prayer has been answered. i've had some really good classes this week- and it's been such a blessing. i finally feel more comfortable with the kids and i feel like i'm making a difference. it's been quite a rewarding week in those regards.

i have forgotten what korea is like in the winter. i am longing for spring already. we've had some wicked snow showers a couple times, but it hasnt been enough snow to really stick around--unless they move it out of the city pretty quickly. i'm interested to ride to the airport on saturday to see what life outside of seoul is looking like these days.

i've been blessed with some very warm slippers, which have been keeping my feet warm while i'm in my apartment. i've also stocked up on hot chocolate, so most nights you'll find me with a mug of hot cocoa!

i'm trying to keep up with reading- but i'm not doing that good of a job at it. i did just finish reading "pride and prejudice." i'm happy that i read the book, but i'm not sure i'll ever read another jane austen book again. not really my kind of book. i hope to finish up another book tonight called "if you want to walk on water, you got to get out of the boat." it was given to me last year for my birthday- and it's been a fantastic book to read. i'm sad to finish it... although, i look to my right and i have about 7 books just waiting for my attention...

i dont feel like there is much to update on around here. everyone's ready for winter break and so preparations for that have been consuming everyone's time. i'm just trying to live each day to it's fullest. i try to spend time with friends and time alone pretty equally. i've been writing quite a bit lately, but not really about anything. i feel like there's a lot going on in my head/heart/being, but yet nothing i can put into words. i sort of just feel ready for a break. i'm just not sure when that's actually going to be.

i guess that's really all from me. i doubt i'll be able to post while i'm at home- so i guess i'll return in the new year. merry christmas and happy new year to you! ^^ may God bless you and keep you safe!

texts.

some of my fave texts that i have received while living in england: "there's a program on irish tv tonight called 'death or canada'. i wish i had the energy to stay up and watch it. i may have some tshirts made." "Worse." "Than." "Hitler." "That's bad news bears, my friend. I hope your magic shirts are keeping you warm." "Because we're celebrating Christmas time, leave your shoes out at half past nine. Leave them out until half past ten. Santa should have been by then. (i know what you're thinking, 'why is sarah in bible college when she is so gifted in the literary technique of rhyming?)" "You make me feel. You make me feel. You make me feel like a natural woman." "Should be fun on a bun!" "And stay off the circle line. It is an instrument of the devil." "I'd love a bottle of fruit loops right about now." "I've never seen a movie that...

We're all moved in!

Expectancy

We have the following Bible verses written on a chalkboard above our kitchen sink: Because of God's tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness & in the shadow of death, & to guide us to the path of peace. Luke 1:78-78 NLT I chose to write out these verses for a few reasons. First of all, I like the picture it illustrates of God's mercy & how ultimately his mercy & light lead us to peace. Second, these verses speak of hope to me. They say that even in darkness & death there is hope! And last, it reminds me to live every day with expectancy. It says that heaven "is about" to break upon us; it's almost foreshadowing God's faithfulness. I've been thinking about this third point a lot lately. Expectancy. What does it mean? What does it look like? I think I've referenced it before, but I'm reading a book that's written specifically for people in a time of ...
