thoughts, rants, ramblings--

i often hear remarks about how if you would just change your perspective, or view life through a different set of lenses how things could change... i must say that i pretty much agree with that.

i think feet are important. i cannot imagine my life without the use of my feet. i've learned many times that taking care of your feet are important. you must give them time to rest and care for them as you would anything precious to you.

friends. friends are also very important, precious things in our lives. if God's blessed you with good friends it would be wise to do everything in your power to love those people and care for them as much as possible. i've always been incredibly blessed with people in my life, and i just cant fathom a day without friends to share laughter, tears and love with.

"to infinity and beyond." who knew that buzz light-year would have such insight into life. a big, constant prayer that i have is that my life will accomplish it's purpose. i never want to settle for anything less than i'm capable of. i want to push myself to the limits and to have no fear to follow God into the unknown. i have to say that i think i've done a decent job of this so far in my life and i only pray that i will continue to have the energy, courage and faith to continue on His path.

yesterday was my first day back in seoul since i left before Christmas. i must admit that it took some time to get used to the crowds.. the no personal space.. the busy-ness of the people again. i didnt realise it until i had the opportunity to sit back and observe koreans entering and exiting the subway station just how much of an adjustment happens whenever you leave for a short trip. all of the things that have become the norm to me over the past two years really bothered me yesterday and i think it was just because it had been almost a month since i had been in the midst of it. it's funny how easy it is to just jump back to your old ways. luckily i snapped out of things pretty quickly, although i must admit that the "adjuma" who nearly sat ON me yesterday did not impress me one bit!

as i sit here on a sunday night, ready to go to bed, all i can think about is my life after korea, which isnt a bad thing. i just need to make sure that i am not wishing my days away, or that i am not living each day in the present. i am a planner/organizer. i like to know what lies ahead of me. i dont like not knowing what's going on and relying on others (or in this case, God) to work things out for me. i have a feeling that these next few months i am going to enter a period of my life that is going to require me to rely solely upon God. i am excited, but i am terrified.

texts.

some of my fave texts that i have received while living in england: "there's a program on irish tv tonight called 'death or canada'. i wish i had the energy to stay up and watch it. i may have some tshirts made." "Worse." "Than." "Hitler." "That's bad news bears, my friend. I hope your magic shirts are keeping you warm." "Because we're celebrating Christmas time, leave your shoes out at half past nine. Leave them out until half past ten. Santa should have been by then. (i know what you're thinking, 'why is sarah in bible college when she is so gifted in the literary technique of rhyming?)" "You make me feel. You make me feel. You make me feel like a natural woman." "Should be fun on a bun!" "And stay off the circle line. It is an instrument of the devil." "I'd love a bottle of fruit loops right about now." "I've never seen a movie that...

Expectancy

We have the following Bible verses written on a chalkboard above our kitchen sink: Because of God's tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness & in the shadow of death, & to guide us to the path of peace. Luke 1:78-78 NLT I chose to write out these verses for a few reasons. First of all, I like the picture it illustrates of God's mercy & how ultimately his mercy & light lead us to peace. Second, these verses speak of hope to me. They say that even in darkness & death there is hope! And last, it reminds me to live every day with expectancy. It says that heaven "is about" to break upon us; it's almost foreshadowing God's faithfulness. I've been thinking about this third point a lot lately. Expectancy. What does it mean? What does it look like? I think I've referenced it before, but I'm reading a book that's written specifically for people in a time of ...
