yet another good bye-

this is what happened when jodi and i lived together for two weeks! we made a dmz on the bed we shared and jodi, as lovingly as you possible could, cut the head off a teddy bear that one of my students gave me last year. we decided to ask john to come over to document the situation.

we're pretty ridiculous.
my first two weeks in korea absolutely flew by. it was so great spending that time with jodi and having her around to help out with everything! especially in regards to school.
this was really the first time the two of us have hung out pretty exclusively for such a long period of time. i think we both did great. especially considering the size of the space we were asked to share.

jodi has since left to continue her life's journey. she's only been gone for a day and i miss her already. i really got used to having her around all the time. she's one of those friends who just makes me feel loved and accepted. (except for when she's punching or kicking me!!!) i really love jodi for those traits. she's been such a great friend to me, and i just truly hope that our paths will cross again one day! maybe i'll follow her to the uk so team six can have a reunion! ^^

as for everything else in korea- things are going well. teaching is going great. the kids are wonderful. i have been getting along with coworkers well and it's just a nice school to be at. i think i've found a church that i'm going attend for the remainder of my time here. i have a hand-full of people still here from last year, so it has been very nice to reconnect with them and to hang out.

i am happy and at peace about being back. it gives me confidence that i am exactly where i'm supposed to be! and for that, i'm so grateful.

texts.

some of my fave texts that i have received while living in england: "there's a program on irish tv tonight called 'death or canada'. i wish i had the energy to stay up and watch it. i may have some tshirts made." "Worse." "Than." "Hitler." "That's bad news bears, my friend. I hope your magic shirts are keeping you warm." "Because we're celebrating Christmas time, leave your shoes out at half past nine. Leave them out until half past ten. Santa should have been by then. (i know what you're thinking, 'why is sarah in bible college when she is so gifted in the literary technique of rhyming?)" "You make me feel. You make me feel. You make me feel like a natural woman." "Should be fun on a bun!" "And stay off the circle line. It is an instrument of the devil." "I'd love a bottle of fruit loops right about now." "I've never seen a movie that...

Expectancy

We have the following Bible verses written on a chalkboard above our kitchen sink: Because of God's tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness & in the shadow of death, & to guide us to the path of peace. Luke 1:78-78 NLT I chose to write out these verses for a few reasons. First of all, I like the picture it illustrates of God's mercy & how ultimately his mercy & light lead us to peace. Second, these verses speak of hope to me. They say that even in darkness & death there is hope! And last, it reminds me to live every day with expectancy. It says that heaven "is about" to break upon us; it's almost foreshadowing God's faithfulness. I've been thinking about this third point a lot lately. Expectancy. What does it mean? What does it look like? I think I've referenced it before, but I'm reading a book that's written specifically for people in a time of ...
