growing.

i am a stubborn person. in the past few years i've been able to handle my stubborn tendencies a bit and relax; however, this week has been a prime example of how stubborn i am.

i actually described myself today as "the bratty child that knows what's right, but is angry and wants her way."

it's amazing that the older i get and the closer i grow to God, i really discover so much about myself and how a lot of times i am in the wrong with how i handle things.

i like to run away.
i like to isolate myself.
i'd rather hide than open up and talk to someone. God included.
i hate crying.
i hide within myself so people dont realise what's really going on.
i'd rather quit than work through a painful or difficult situation.
i have problems letting go.
i know a lot of things about myself, but dont believe any of them. especially if they're positive things.

needless to say, i am struggling.

i dont want to say too much more, cuz i dont think this is the best place to do so. i would like to ask for prayer, though. i am in the middle of something huge and it's taking every ounce of myself not to just leave england. i will be ok. i do have great people around me, if i open up to them. God will show up and help me. i will end up being fine and even better for going through this. just please keep me in your prayers. thanks.
"it's time for healing... time to move on... time to fix what's been broken too long... time to make right... what has been wrong... it's time to find my way to where i belong." (--lyrics from the sanctus real song on my player. it best describes my current self.)

texts.

some of my fave texts that i have received while living in england: "there's a program on irish tv tonight called 'death or canada'. i wish i had the energy to stay up and watch it. i may have some tshirts made." "Worse." "Than." "Hitler." "That's bad news bears, my friend. I hope your magic shirts are keeping you warm." "Because we're celebrating Christmas time, leave your shoes out at half past nine. Leave them out until half past ten. Santa should have been by then. (i know what you're thinking, 'why is sarah in bible college when she is so gifted in the literary technique of rhyming?)" "You make me feel. You make me feel. You make me feel like a natural woman." "Should be fun on a bun!" "And stay off the circle line. It is an instrument of the devil." "I'd love a bottle of fruit loops right about now." "I've never seen a movie that...

Expectancy

We have the following Bible verses written on a chalkboard above our kitchen sink: Because of God's tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness & in the shadow of death, & to guide us to the path of peace. Luke 1:78-78 NLT I chose to write out these verses for a few reasons. First of all, I like the picture it illustrates of God's mercy & how ultimately his mercy & light lead us to peace. Second, these verses speak of hope to me. They say that even in darkness & death there is hope! And last, it reminds me to live every day with expectancy. It says that heaven "is about" to break upon us; it's almost foreshadowing God's faithfulness. I've been thinking about this third point a lot lately. Expectancy. What does it mean? What does it look like? I think I've referenced it before, but I'm reading a book that's written specifically for people in a time of ...
